Open Day and Gift Day 2019

Open Day
You may be one of the hundreds of people who pass our lovely church every day, between the hospitals, going to and from the shops, to and from school, just rushing about as we live our busy lives. However, the church building stands there, an imposing and permanent presence, watching over all. It is open for a variety of events, as well as Church services every Sunday. Sadly, there are many who have never been inside.

On Saturday 28th September we are having an open day, when everyone is particularly invited and encouraged to come in and have a look around. There will be music going on most of the day, children’s activities, tea and coffee. There will be guides to tell you about the features of the building (if you wish). There are lovely windows, a World War One memorial with an interesting and rare feature, a Titanic connection, and a supremely impressive interior.

Gift Day
We all know it is essential to keep a building in good condition. Unfortunately, a recent inspection has shown that some essential repairs must be carried out to the church, mainly on the roof, and some are quite expensive.

For over 100 years All Saints church has stood at the centre of our patch of Oxford. It provides a place of peaceful worship and prayer, a venue for a wide range of musical events, and a garden which is a place of relaxation and reflection easily accessible to everyone.

Church House in New High Street is also part of what we offer to the community, and is used by about 350 people each week, for a huge range of activities. A substantial sum has recently been spent upgrading the toilets to provide for wheelchair users.

Because our buildings are so widely used, we would be most grateful if you would support our annual Gift Day Appeal by bringing your donation to the Church on 28th September. Your donation will make all the difference, and you will know that it will help to keep this beautiful church building at the centre of our community in good repair.

Our Sunday Services every week:

10.00 a.m. Sung Eucharist CW or Matins BCP (2nd Sunday)
