St John Passion, April 6 2019 at 7:30pm

The Choir of All Saints, Headington, directed by Rory Moules, will be holding a performance of the St John Passion by JS Bach on Saturday 6th April 2019 at 7:30pm.  This ever-popular masterpiece narrates Christ’s Passion as related in St John’s Gospel and was composed during Bach’s first year at Leipzig.   The John Passion was first performed liturgically as part of the Lutheran Vesper Liturgy at the Nikolaikirche on Good Friday of 1724.

This performance is in aid of the All Saint’s Choir.  The Choir of All Saints' sings at the two principal Sunday services throughout the year.  Comprised of semi-professional Lay Clerks and auditioned volunteers, the Choir performs a wide variety of liturgical music to a very high standard.

Tickets are available online here at a cost of £15 adults, £5 unwaged/ students/children.

Tickets will also be on sale after the 10am Church service from 17th March onwards, payment accepted by cash or cheque made payable to 'All Saints' Highfield PCC'.
