The Churchwardens of All Saints', Highfield, send the following news:
You may have already heard that our Vicar, James Cocke, has decided to take his much deserved retirement. He has served All Saints’ with remarkable dedication for 63 years. His outstanding record will be celebrated at a special service of thanksgiving beginning at 11.00 am on Sunday 26th January. It will be followed by refreshments, in the course of which a presentation will be made of a silver salver engraved to convey the church’s thanks for his ministry.
We are hoping that many former members of our congregation and friends will join with present members and Jim’s family in this service. You may also like to contribute to the retirement gift; if so, please send a cheque (payable to ‘All Saints’ Highfield PCC) to Catherine Hodgkinson, 51, Demesne Furze, Headington, OX3 7XG. Any money received in excess of the cost of the presentation will be given as a cheque.
We hope very much to see you on the 26th January; if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us."
