Proposed Visit to Arundel Cathedral 20 June 2019

Holy Trinity Church, Headington Quarry are organizing a visit to Arundel Cathedral to see “The Carpet of Flowers” celebrating the feast of Corpus Christi. They then plan to visit Chichester Cathedral. The cost of the coach will be £16.50 and there is no charge for the Cathedral visits. Headington Singers Summer Concert 2019

The Headington Singers are holding their Summer Concert on Friday the 5th of July at All Saints' Church.  Entitled " My spirit sang all day" it features music by Holst, Finzi, and Vaughan Williams along with the debut performance of "Cantico" by contemporary composer Jill Elliot.  The soloists Dexter Drown (baritone) and Megan Hooper (soprano) are joined by Maureen Cooper on the piano, conducted by Sally Mears.

The concert starts at 7:30pm, tickets are £12/£10 and children can enter free.

Socially this month starts with our informal lunch  on Wednesday 5th June at The Britannia Inn, on the corner of Lime Walk and London Road.  
All you have to do is turn up, order your food & drink at the bar, then join us for a chat from 12noon onwards.  
 
 
Sandwiched between our normal social events is the Highfield Residents Association and All Saints Church Street Party on Sunday 16th June 2019 from 11am till late. Taking its inspiration from the 'Great Get Together' movement started in memory of the late Jo Cox MP, this enjoyable community event carries on for most of the day and for as much of the evening as you want! We are hoping that the weather will hold up and the day will be one of fun in the sun.     

Program for the day
11.30 Street Café – coffee/biscuits
13.00 Celebration Lunch - bring ‘n’ share, we provide drinks
14.30 Street Games - full programme of fun till 5pm.
14.30 Mad Marston Hares – great traditional music/song.
15.00 Afternoon Tea – Teas & cakes in the church gardens.
16.30 Tug of War – kids vs. grown ups!
From 18.30 Supper in Butchers Arms – tasty buffet food
 
 
Our mid week coffee morning and bring & buy book sale will be on Wednesday 19th June 2019 at 10:30. Take a break during the middle of the week to meet up for coffee and a chat. All are welcome to join us at this enjoyable mid-week social event.
